Voice Mail
Voice Mail Question –
I hope my question is clear.
When I get a voice mail on my AT&T home phone (Model CL4940), a light blinks indicating a voice mail.
Now, if my home phone is in use and someone attempts to call, the caller is directed to a AT&T message to leave a voice mail. That message is not noted on my home phone. The only way for me to know I have a voice mail is to dial Star 98 to retrieve it.
So, my question is can the above feature be eliminated so the above feature is not available and the caller is not given a choice to leave a voice mail? Also, how can I delete all the messages when I dial Star 98?
Also, is there an AT&T email address where I can send a question?

To clarify, I am asking if only the AT&T voice mail message can be eliminated as described above. I don't want to eliminated voice mail from my home phone.

First to get the terminology right the phone company supplied service is voicemail. Your home phone has an answering machine or answering system. To turn off the phone company voicemail, if you have AT&T Phone (digital service formally U-verse) you can access the phone feature in your MyAtt account and turn it off. If you have a traditional landline you'll need to call to get it removed.
