DL72219 Caller ID question

I set up this cordless phone today. When I call from my cell phone, my name shows up for caller ID. Other cell phones in the same room only show “wireless caller”. I added a phone number with name to the directory and that number appears as “wireless caller” as well. Only my name appears. Any ideas??

Cordless phone system is about all I'm following. You call from your cell phone and your name shows on the cordless system. Cell phones in same room show wireless caller. What's one have to do with the other?

I’m sorry, I was trying to be concise. What I am trying to say is that everyone else who calls, the caller ID shows as “wireless caller”, including numbers that I have added into the directory. My name shows up when I call from my cell phone but I didn’t do anything special or different to make my name appear. Thank you for responding

On calls not in your directory, you can't control what the carrier is sending for caller ID. Many cell phones only put out the "wireless caller" ID for the name. However, if you have a number and name in your directory the name in your directory should be what's displayed, if it's not, make sure the entry is there when reviewing the directory, it's easy to put the information in but forget to save it.

All valid points, however, this is replacing an older cordless phone and names always showed up for the old phone. I am calling from Verizon and my name shows up, my brother calls from Verizon and he shows up as Wireless Caller. My wife called and she showed up as my name, my daughter called and she showed up as Wireless Caller, the three of us are all on the same phone plan if that makes a difference.

No it doesn't, you're receiving what the carrier is sending, you can't change that. They can all call Verizon and tell them they want their names added to the outgoing caller ID.. See this from Verizon's website or you can just add them all to your directory, but that won't help others they call. As far as the old phone system goes, were their numbers in that systems directory? No phone system will display anything other than what's being sent by the carrier, unless a directory is built.
