Not sure why you posted in this topic. First let's get the terminology right, wireless is cell phone service what you have is a cordless phone system. You don't say if this is a traditional landline or digital phone service (phone plugs into a modem). If it's a traditional landline check it at the NID with a known working corded phone and if bad there report to your provider. If you have digital service, try resetting your modem. Unless you're talking about wireless home phone service.

Dear Spoom2. I apologize for not getting the technical language correct. I did not/do not work in the telephone service business, though I often wish I had, I was once a Shop Stewart for a group of drivers associated with the AT&T workers union.

I have a "modem" velcro tapped to the window closest to the outside north-facing. I also added an external short antenna on a DIY mount. from this Modem, there are two female telephone outlets. I plugged a male telephone line into one that I then plugged the opposite side into my wall outlet, in my living room, so I have connections in every room that has a telephone plug on the wall. The other one, a female outlet on this modem, I plugged a line into it and the other end into a handset, cordless Panasonic, in my living room.

I was at Bellevues AT&T store in Bell Square today. Unfortunately, I did not bring all the info they needed. I must return tomorrow.

So, if it worked before try resetting the modem. Are you sure both jacks on the modem are active?

I assume since you have a modem velcroid to a window you have some type of wireless service. What exactly do you have for your phone service.

This sounds like a wireless home phone which does require a SIM card. Has it ever worked?

Do you typically have AT&t cell phone service at your location?

@formerlyknownas That's what I'm thinking too, but which one? Also, unless you have two lines just the one port is activated. If that weren't enough, they've plugged one port into their homes wiring and I'm not real confident with what's been posted so far, they know how to disconnect any incoming wiring. So, I see lots of room for error here. They said two phone ports so going by that I'd guess it's the wireless home phone and Internet because the AT&T Phone Advanced has 6 phone ports. Another question, did they even have the voice service activated at all. Too many unknowns here.

@Rocky the Squrel Do you have this? Or do you have this? Or something else?
