Porting a phone number
Mobil service company says I need to contact my land line service and tell them they need to respond to the transfer request.
Att says the mobile service company should handle the transfer and ATT doesn't have to respond.
So now what?

AT&T is correct, the carrier you are porting to handles the port. They tell you what information they need. If they don't know this or know how it's done I sure wouldn't use them.

How long should it take to port a landline away from AT&T? I drove between my mobile company shop & AT&T shop to get the port over request initiated. The mobile company asked for a port-out pin. AT&T said ,"There is no pin for our landlines, enter all zeros." I can see the request pending in the my mobile account. It's been 3 days.

Porting is controlled by the port to company, so that's who you'd ask. AT&T is out of the picture as stated previously.
