Relocating landline drop

I want to move the landline drop coming in from the utility pole to a different spot on my house. I have Spectrum phone but they say the original utility is responsible for the incoming main line. Is AT&T the utility for Los Angeles City (Pico/Fairfax area)? Does anyone have experience to share trying to get the incoming wire relocated? Thnaks!

If you have Spectrum phone with Spectrum internet, there is no ATT service you are subscribed to, correct?

If wish to have an unused line from pole to house relocated would be a billable charge from $99 to $149.

My question is how is ATT to bill you as a non customer?

Note if had ATT service, moving the line would still be billable but the charge would be added to your next bill.

And yes, Spectrum should not be touching or moving lines that do not belong to them….

I feel like I'm being run around by AT&T. I called Customer Svc (800-288-2020), and they said speak directly to Buried Wire (800-924-9420). Buried Wire said call Maintenance Team (800-288-2020 -- again?!). Maintenance said call Customer Svc (877-999-1085). Customer Svc says they can't send a technician since I don't have an account, and I should call Property Damage Team (314-235-5328) and Yard Restoration Team (800-924-9420 -- again?!). I left a voicemail at Property Damage, whose message says they'll call you back within 48 hours if and only if you include every piece of information they request. I hope I did! Any additional guidance here from AT&T would be appreciated.

Looks like the phone service is actually coming directly through the modem. So my phone drop wire isn't active after all. Now how can I get rid of the completely unused phone wire?

Much to my surprise, an AT&T technician appeared at my door today without notifying me of an appointment in advance. I'm thrilled to report he removed the unwanted drop wire, and now I'm good to go. Definitely a happy ending to this story!!!!
