We're sorry, international direct-dial business calls cannot be completed from this number (UK calls). SAC1.

Hello!

Since early December 2023, our calls from out ATT Landline to any UK number have resulted in one ring tone, followed a three note SIT tone and the following voice error message: "We're sorry, international direct-dial business calls cannot be completed from this number. For assistance please contact your customer care representative. SAC1."

Our long distance provider is not ATT, but we are in good standing with them and after raising trouble tickets they remain unable to deduce why our calls to the UK are blocked. Talking to ATT customer service, they are convinced the problem with our long distance provider.

A really helpful first step would be to establish that the call block is not happening from AT&Ts end (or that it is). Does that error voice message give any clues as to who is at fault (e.g., the SAC1 code)?

My landline is legacy Pacific Bell (Bay Area, CA).

Thanks in advance for any help!

If AT&T isn't your long-distance carrier it won't be AT&T as soon as you dial the 1 or a country code the call is handed off to your LD carrier. Can you call any other international numbers or is the one you're calling the only international country you call?

Thanks, @spoom2 that was helpful. I really only ever call the UK, so I have no occasion to use other country codes besides 011 44.
