Verification Code being Sent to nonexistant phone number

Can't replace bad phone number in my email account profile because the correct number is not AT&T wireless and does not exist any longer, for many years. AT&T is the only site I've come across that doesn't provide an alternative option for sending the codes either to a different phone number, to an email address or an authenticator app. As a result I'm locked out of my account without access to the phone that AT&T sends the text code to. Explained the problem to technical support staff no resolution, no support ticket.

@tovbrog Please edit your post to remove your phone number.  No one is going to call you except the scammers and spammers you’ve given your number to.

So if I understanding your original post, you have an email security problem because the phone number used for two-factor authentication no longer exists. This is not a wireless problem

It's really important but before you lose a phone number, cancel it, give it up, default on whatever account is connected to etc that you make sure that your email security has been switched to a different phone number.

I have moved this to the email security and login section of the forum which is where it apparently belongs

Not a wireless problem. This is an email login problem

This is an account login problem. I don't use an AT&T email account.

Your AT&T two-factor authentication would be going to another phone on your account. You're saying it's not?   Is the phone number canceled or transferred to a different AT&T account?

It's going to a phone that no longer exists. It might be from when we had directv 20 years ago.
