Charge pending expired

Got an email today about a charge that was pending had expired on my bank account from AT&T K006 9968 ESTOR for about $44. I recently preordered the Apple Watch series 5 Nike so I thought maybe something went wrong with the order but I talked to a rep and they said the order has been paid and is still active and will ship when available. So now I’m wondering what this charge was from? Is AT&T compromised? Is there a secret scam within the company? I want to know what exact merchant this ID is to.

@Dvelaz3  This charge from AT&T K006 9968 ESTOR is a well known scam credit/debit charge. Dispute it with your card issuer if you have not done so. You can Google this for more info

It’s a well known scam? Where is it from? How did this scam get my info? How long has this scam been going on? Why hasn’t anyone been able to shut this scam down?

One way is scammers are generating random numbers and hoping to hit a correct sequence of card numbers. Another way is they are getting the card info from data breaches from companies. One of the latest data breach was Door Dash.
