Do I still have to pay an ETF when switching from a normal 2 year plan to AT&T NEXT?

Like I said in my previous forum, I had this whole problem of me just screwing myslef over and switching plans mindlessly withing the span of two days. Only because of my own selfishness. I already know that canceling a NEXT plan makes you pay the rest of the phones unpaid bill. But now for sure I'm certainly in trouble. I probably look/sound like stupid right now.

An ETF fee is paid only if terminating service while still under contract. As long as you maintain service, no ETF fee. Next is not a service plan, it is only a plan for purchasing a phone.
