MyAT&T App Payment Methods Page Won’t Accept AmEx Card Info

Hello,

I am using the MyAT&T app (version 2024.3.1), and encountering the following issue:

I’d like to pay my AT&T wireless bill with my American Express card.

However, when I am on the page to add a payment, the card number field specifies “16-19 digits”, but an AmEx is 15 digits…

In the CVV, field it says “3 or 4 digits” which an AmEx is 4 digits.

When I click the (i) button on the CVV field, it shows diagrams with location of where to find CVV for AmEx card as well as other type of cards…

However, when I input my AmEx card number, expiration date, and CVV, it won’t accept all 4 digits of the AmEx CVV; it cuts off at 3 digits.

Why offer this option if the fields won’t actually accept it?

I just tried this using the myAT&T app. It initially would not allow me to enter a 4 digit CVV, but as soon as I entered a valid looking AmEx account number, the CVV allowed entry of a fourth digit.

No, I’m still unable to do it.

I prefer to use this card for everything as a CC has more buyer protections and because I like to rack up my SkyMiles… and I just set all my other bills to AutoPay.

I can go in and manually pay it each due date by using the Apple Pay option (which is linked to my AmEx), but since I can’t use Amex directly in the app’s payment options (whether as a one-time payment, or attempting to add it as a stored payment method)…

that means I can’t set my AT&T bill to just AutoPay. Darn!

The version of the App I have (on Android) is 2024.4.0, and as I said, it accepted an AmEx format number and a 4 digit CVV. I do not know why it wouldn't work for you when it seems to be working for me.
