Unsure of AT&T Text is possible fraud

My daughter (who is on my plan) received a text from what is believed is AT&T. "AT&T Free Msg: It looks like you no longer have an eligible unlimited plan...." Call 800-331-0500 for more info.

Is this legit?

Not sure why she received this message as we did not change her account. We did, however, recently update her iPhone to a newer model.

I recently got this message today actually and I'm on my mom's plan. I upgraded my phone last year but she did nothing that changes my plan or to get this message

Okay so you didn't change your plan, is she on a plan that qualifies for promotion because it sounds like she entered into one? She has to be on an unlimited data plan.  If she's on your plan and it has a limited amount of data, no deal.

If you log into your account the name of the plan is on the overview page
