Warning: spam text re account. Anyone else get this?
I got a text saying:
FRM:AT&T
SUBJ:Payment on hold.Call
1-877-441-8675
MSG:1454
I checked my ATT account and there is no problem and no alerts. No doubt spam.

Hello @Pafnooty,
We completely understand how receiving a spam text message of this nature can be concerning.
Please follow the steps at this link to Learn how to block unwanted calls and text messages.
We also recommend that you Report unwanted calls and texts by sending these text messages to 7726 (SPAM) so that we can start an investigation.
Messages forwarded to 7726 are free. They don't count towards your text plan.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

I am getting an absurd amount of spam text messages and have been blocking them for months now in hopes of slowing them down and to no avail in fact they only seem to be getting worse . This only appears to happen on 3 out of 4 devices I have in the household and the 3 being with AT&T the 4th is with another carrier and this doesn’t happen

Yes! I am also getting spam texts saying that AT&T is giving me a free laptop orMacbook for being a great customer if I click on a link. I didn’t click on a link but would love to know how to stop or block these texts. Texting them to 7726 doesn’t help!

Also, I have been forwarding my spam texts to the 7726 number for MONTHS and it doesn’t help! Is anyone at AT&T even looking at or working on these spam text resolutions?? Maybe I need to switch to another company?

@dholtry57 This forum is not customer support. No, no one at ATT is working on these spam text resolutions. The response from ATTHelp on this thread is all the help you will get from ATT. Switching to a different carrier won’t help. This is an issue with all carriers.

7726 does not stop or slow down unsolicited unwanted and annoying spam texts . It may make them worse unfortunately I have a list of blocked numbers on my phone to keep an investigator busy for decades to come . The problem is I don’t think there is no investigator or investigation process . It’s been 4 months since my last comment on this post when I began trying 7726 and that did absolutely nothing . This is not this big of an issue with all carriers it is an issue but it’s a manageable one . I have 2 lines I ported to at@t and never had an issue while the numbers were with the other carrier . It not only is a major inconvenience to change numbers after using onefor years but at@t makes it an even more pain in the (Edited per community guidelines) by charging you 36$ .

Same! Getting MULTIPLE DAILY spam texts on my prepaid phone. The texts come from an EMAIL address. ATT&T's 7726 (SPAM) does not help with this, since it requires a PHONE NUMBER from the source (NOT EMAIL). These texts link to PORN. I don't want this junk coming onto my phone!!!!! I block the email address, and they send more from another. To make matters WORSE, the Spam is attached to 19 other email addresses or phone numbers - so now 19 more people I don't know have my phone number. The only option I have on my iPhone SE is to send the unknown messages to a seperate folder -BUT I STILL GET THE NOTIFICATIONS FROM THEM! THERE IS NO WAY TO IGNORE OR SILENCE THESE TEXTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
