Why am I getting charged more than what I was told I would pay?

Yeah I have had this wireless unlimited plan since July and the woman at the at and t store told me if I did auto pay I would pay $80 instead of the $100 or so and every month these grease balls at at and t have charged me the $100 for my bill? Why is that? The customer service robots are useless and I can never get in touch with a real person so here I am, can anyone explain to me why they are being weirdos and charging more than promised?

You have to enroll in both auto-pay and paperless billing to get the dollar per line discount which reduces the Premium plan from 95$ to $85.

This would be directed to ATTchat on att.com or 18003310500 for specfic charges that they can analyze. To skip the robot just keep pressing 0 on the robot system then it will say "hold on while I get someone who can help."

So which unlimited plan do you have and how many lines? There is no unlimited plan that would be $80. Unlimited Extra with one line would be come close. One line with the discount would be $75 plus taxes and fees. No one here can see your bill so we don’t know if you are getting the autopay discount or not or if you have other charges on your bill like insurance. If you are not getting the discount, are you also enrolled in paperless billing as noted above?

Lady at the store said I would pay $80 instead of like $100 lol I do auto pay & paperless yet they still send me pieces of paper (Edited per community guidelines) idk bro I’m just gonna cancel and go elsewhere I’m like broke but need a phone so yeah I’m done with this company haha it’s been a miserable three months

I have auto pay & paper less billing to the people asking me if I do any of those, yet they still send me a piece of paper in the mail so yeah is that extra charge for the piece of paper? (Edited per community guidelines) I hate phone companies I hate everything so done I’ll get the poor people phone service because I’m poor

Your bill is still available online whether you get a paper bill or not. That’s not paperless billing. If they are sending you a paper bill, then you are not enrolled in paperless billing and that explains why you aren’t getting the discount.

And your plan has a name... 

Premium, $95 - $10 (auto pay And paperless billing discount) +tax

Extra, $85 - $10 (AP&PB) + tax

Start, $75 -  $10(AP&PB) + tax

Read the bill for plan name a d bill details. 

Since you are getting a paper bill, you are not on paperless billing, so not getting $10 AP&PB discount.  Enroll in your online account.

When my wife and I purchased new phones, we were told our plan had to be updated to a 5G plan. Fine. But our federal discount we had disappeared, which raised our bill $35. Numerous calls later and promises to reinstate discount- nothing. Not happy with ATT!

If you upgraded to one of the current Unlimited plans the only plan that is eligible for service discount would be the Premium plan which would reduce it by $10 to the same cost as the extra plan.   Highly likely that your discount plan is still applied, it just doesn't reduce your service cost.  It may have other benefits like waived activation fees or upgrade fees. And most definitely means that you are now eligible to participate in the phone deals that are only offered to unlimited customers.

AT&T representatives that work in Sam Clubs are very misleading. My family was with TMobile for well over 20 years. Have never been with any other company. My husband and I walk into our local Sams Club and wouldnt you know, there stood 2 representatives with AT&T telling me and anyone who was interested in reducing their monthly wireless bill, how much we could save. Unfortunately, we took the bait. Was told we would save at least 100.00 per month. Our current bill with Tmobile was 240.00 with AT&T telling us we would pay 132.00 per month for our 3 phone lines and 2 watches. Guess what- month 1 we paid over 180.00. This was to activate our 2 watches that we didnt even upgrade with AT&T. Month 2- we will be paying over 418.00. When I talk with support Im told of all these activation fees, add on fees, etc. and our total bill after the 418.00 is paid will be 259.00 per month plus tax! I said, what about my first responder discount that I submitted and was approved for? That doesnt come until later! In a nutshell, we switched to AT&T with the hopes of reducing our OOP cost monthly by 100.00 as told to us by the representatives only to find we will be paying more monthly than we did with our TMobile carrier. I am FURIOUS!! Chat support offered a 50.00 discount off the 418.00 bill for this month! LOL its about the principal and the misleading representation told to unsuspecting people like ourselves that needs to be told!! I am SORRY I EVER SWITCHED TO AT&T!!
