Why does AT&T insist on badgering us with texts to say NOTHING IS WRONG with our accounts?

Every month AT&T pummels me with several messages to tell me that my auto-payment is going to happen again. Yep. Just like I set it up to do.

Then, after the payment, I get two more texts, at any time of day or night, to say there's no problem with my account. Sometimes they'll even prompt me to sign up for auto-payment... which they know I'm already signed up for.

I have been calling AT&T FOR YEARS to cancel these, and been promised over and over that the texts will stop. They haven't.  I've gotten them at 5 a.m.  How about 9 a.m. Christmas morning?

And now, get this: AT&T says that to stop AT&T from badgering you day and night, you have to join the Do Not Call list. But that is not how the Do Not Call list works.  Here is a quote from the Do Not Call site:

calls are permitted from companies with which you have done or sought to do business

Why does AT&T abuse its own customers? If you insist on sending asinine information, then E-mail it. And hey, how about this: Text us when something IS wrong with our payment, instead of when it isn't.
