No voices with incoming and outgoing calls

I have an ATT cordless with answering machine and one satellite phone, Model CR82212.  There is a dial tone and outgoing calls ring but no voices heard on either end.  Incoming calls ring but there are no voices for caller or receiver.  Both are fully charged.  I have unplugged the unit for 30 secon
