Is it true that if I purchase a cellphone  directly from the manufacturer that does NOT have any assigned carrier but IS listed as a compatible device and is sold at a higher price at the AT&T store...is it factual that I will be unable to make calls through Wi-fi when no cell signal is available? My at&t contract is up but still have my phone, it's locked, can I get a prepaid at&t SIM card and use it even though it's locked?

Why does AT&T not offer the Pixel or OnePlus devices.  People who use your wireless services want more options than just Apple or Samsung(Which you charge more for btw than unlocked phones).  Please give us more options than you currently offer.  Or at the very least please stop restricting certain
