Landline Phone Features

If you no longer have active service with a landline, do you still have the ability to use 911 emergency services? That is a common feature on cellphones, but wasn't sure how it works with landlines.

Is a "landline" actually a traditional land line with copper wire connections to a central terminal, or is it now VOIP. I'm in Branford Connecticut.

it is best to avoid wireless and devices. no cellular and to return to basic.  wifi to reduce to minimum to none.  though need to remain to no installation to proper to time.  may att help to a good phone and lan.  Rosary prayer and to St Michael also daily to learn.
